Thanks for stopping by! I've put
up this website just to give people
a little more info about me and
what I'm up to.
I hope that the new year is treating
you all well so far. I finished
out 2009 with a 6-week run in Europe
with Brian
Auger's Oblivion Express...
It had been a couple years since
I last toured with Brian and the
gang, and as always on a BAOE tour,
madness ensued! It was a fun tour,
with gigs in Germany, Austria, Switzerland,
Italy, Belgium, and the UK.
I posted a little video mash-up
of our encore from a few different
shows on You Tube, check it out:

Anyway, so now I'm back in town,
and have been busy so far. I just
spent the weekend in New York recording
an album with a new band called
"Tucker and the Hot Mugs".
My good friend Kiyanu Kim was producing,
and the incredible Shawn Pelton
rocked it on the drums. Shortly
after my return to LA, I did some
recording with 2-time "Dancing
with the Stars" champion and
great singer-songwriter Mark Ballas.
I'll let you know when both of those
albums are released.
And speaking of album releases,
I'm pleased to announce that my
debut solo album, "Let the
Games Begin..." is now available!!!
I can best describe it as instrumental
funk, with of course a lot of focus
on the bass. Right now it's available
for download on digstation
and iTunes,
and CD's are available throuh CD
Baby. As it becomes available
through other online retailers,
I'll be sure to post that information
here. To hear some clips of music
from the record, stop by my myspace
site: http://www.myspace.com/derekfrank
A couple other albums that I played
on have recently been released....My
new Jazz/Funk project, "Wonk"
has recently completed an album,
and that's now available through
CD
Baby.
Kate Higgins' "Little Parts"
is now available, as is Zoux's
EP "Crush of Love".

websites for ordering info.
I finally updated the photos
section of this website, with lots
of new pics and videos.... CLICK

I'm now set up for remote recording,
so if you need any bass tracks,
don't hesitate to ask! I've been
working on a new website centered
on recording, called BassTracksOnline.com,
and it's now up and running. Click
HERE
to check it out.
Well, that's about all I have to
update you with at the moment...
Feel free to stop by my GIGS
page to see where and when I'm playing.
Thanks for stopping by, hope to
see you soon!
